AI limitations and real-world consequences

It is not intended for injured workers, claimants, consumers, or the general public seeking direct advice about a specific claim or person. If you are not a qualified professional using the Service in a professional capacity, do not use it.
Use answers with care
This tool retrieves and summarizes content from sources such as WAC 296-19A and L&I vocational services guidelines. Like any AI system, it can be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong. Guidelines also change over time, and individual situations often turn on facts and exceptions the tool cannot see.
Before you act on anything you read here, you should:
- Verify against the cited sources. Follow the links to the official rule or guideline and confirm it says what the answer claims.
- Check the current rule. Confirm the guideline is still in effect and that no newer guidance supersedes it.
- Consult the right people. When in doubt, confirm with L&I, your supervisor, or qualified legal counsel — especially for decisions that affect a worker's benefits, rights, or claim.
- Never include personal information. Do not enter claim numbers, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, or other personally identifying details about any worker.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim. See Terms of Service (Section 9) for the full limitation-of-liability language.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Voc Hotline and its officers, employees, and agents from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service — including misuse such as entering client PII despite the warnings above, relying on an answer without verification, or using the Service in violation of applicable law or your professional obligations. Governing law
Disputes relating to this disclaimer or your use of voc-hotline.org are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Washington, except where prohibited by law. Your agreement
This disclaimer is not merely informational. When you create an account, you must affirmatively read and accept it (clickwrap) before you can sign up. By accepting and using the Service, you agree to this disclaimer and to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which are incorporated by reference.
